Please join us on Feb 14th from 10:30am to about 2:30pm for our annual Shambhala Day celebration! Shambhala Day is a celebration of the New Year in accordance with the Tibetan lunar calendar, and this is the year of the Iron Tiger. We also have the auspicious situation in which Shambhala Day falls on Valentine’s Day, so please consider adding our celebration to your special holiday plans! Everyone is welcome, including family and friends.
Shambhala Day is a time for us to express the wealth and richness of our spiritual and cultural heritage through feasting, conviviality, and elegance. We will enliven our celebration with chants, sitting, viewing the Year in Review DVD, a potluck lunch, and other festivities, culminating in a live address by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche to the worldwide community.
It would be most helpful to our planning if you could RSVP to Dan Brown (802-483-2151 or send an email to ‘danielwbrown at mac dot com’). If you can attend, please consider bringing some food or drink to share for the potluck. In addition, if you would like to offer entertainment (poetry, readings, songs, instrumental pieces, etc…), we will welcome these during our celebration. Attire and attitude for the party is uplifted and fun!
In combining Shambhala Day and Valentine’s Day, we’d like to encourage everyone to connect with their heart, expressing their innate love, fearlessness, and dignity. This is a wonderful time to celebrate the joy of our relationships, families, earth, sangha, and the inherent wakefulness in all of us. We hope you can join us! Ki Ki So So!
