Supporting the Local Sangha
The Manchester Shambhala Meditation Group is funded fully through the generosity of community members. You can support the Manchester sangha with either a one-time secure online donation (via PayPal), or on an ongoing basis using an automated Electronic Funds Transfer through your financial institution.
Membership offers an opportunity to support the sangha through a regular (usually monthly) contribution. We have no specific rate for monthly membership dues, rather we suggest that you consider the amount you’re able to provide, practicing the virtue of generosity. Many members contribute $40-50 per month. More information is available in our Membership Form which you can download here.
Members are also invited to contribute their time and energies in support of the sangha (community), receive access to the online Shambhala Network, and are encouraged to maintain an ongoing personal meditation practice. There are a multitude of ways to engage!
- Recurring Donations
- For recurring membership dues or ongoing support. Recurring donations provide us with a stable basis for planning our finances and activities. While we cannot process monthly payments online, setting up a recurring donation is simple. Just download the Electronic Funds Transfer form at right (right-click and select ‘Save Link to Disk’). Print out and complete the form, attach a voided check, and bring it in to the center. We’ll take care of setting up the scheduled transfer to your preferences.
- Single Donations
- Every individual contribution is always welcome and goes directly to fund operating expenses of the center. From time to time, we offer specific aspirations to enhance the center and provide the opportunity to sponsor a project. Your online donation through Paypal is safe and secure.

“We can afford to open ourselves and join the rest of the world with a sense of tremendous generosity, tremendous goodness, and tremendous richness. The more we give, the more we gain — although what we gain should not particularly be our reason for giving. Rather, the more we give, the more we are inspired to give constantly. And the gaining process happens naturally, automatically, always.”— Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche,
