Starting Wednesday, September 10, at 7:00 pm, the Manchester Shambhala Meditation Group will be offering Shambhala Training, Level One, “The Art of Being Human: Discovering basic goodness in the world and ourselves.”
Shambhala Training is a series of contemplative classes, suited for both beginning and experienced meditators. The simple and profound technique of mindfulness and awareness is the basis of a secular path of meditation, which can benefit people of any spiritual tradition and way of life.
Sitting meditation presents a means of uncovering our inherent wisdom–naturally awake, clear and brilliant. Through sitting meditation one can discover that wakefulness is a fundamental energy present in all of our experience and that this individual experience is intimately linked with a vision of a good human society and our desire to understand and work with the world around us.
This 5-week course will include meditation instruction, formal talks on the Shambhala teachings, group discussion and personal interviews. It will be led by Jason Newman and Roger Guest.
The Manchester Shambhala Meditation Group meets at 107-B Bonnet St., second floor of red barn behind the Merrill Lynch building. To register, or for more information, call Bethany at 802-375-6353.
